Our Services

Nu Start provides a small number of specialist services designed to support children and young people at times of risk, instability and transition. Our services work flexibly alongside Local Authorities to stabilise situations, reduce escalation and create the conditions for safe, sustainable planning.

Support may be provided through regulated residential care, targeted specialist intervention or short-term crisis response, depending on the needs of the child and the context of the situation.

Children’s Homes

Our Children’s Homes provide high-quality residential care for children and young people who are unable to live safely within their family environment. Care is therapeutic, de-institutionalised and outcome-focused, supporting stability, safeguarding and meaningful progress during periods of risk, instability or transition.

Nu Start One Support Service

The Nu Start One Support Service provides flexible, responsive staffing and support during periods of crisis or heightened risk. The service is designed to stabilise situations, reduce escalation and create space for assessment and planning, working alongside existing arrangements where a residential placement is not required.

Crisis Intervention

Our Crisis Intervention Programme offers rapid, time-limited support for children and young people experiencing acute crisis or placement instability. The programme focuses on stabilisation, emotional regulation and forward planning, supporting safer and more proportionate decision-making.
